The green floor might be a bit much for me, but the blue wall with the white wood cut-out clouds is just adorable (even if they’re lined up unnaturally in a grid). I can’t wait until we own a house and can actually paint the walls!

Home Theatre from Hell

The problems I’m having so far…

 • Only my front L&R speakers work. I know why, but I don’t have the resources to fix it.
 • The projection area is larger than my screen area, even completely zoomed out. The only possible solution I see is removing our large mirror from above the fireplace each time we use the projector.
 • My TV tuner card needs to connect thru a PCI-e slot in my motherboard, but all of them are full. And even if I had a spare, it was built to run on Vista and I back-tracked this computer to XP.. and finding an XP driver is harder than you’d think.
 • There are cables. Everywhere. I was going to attempt cleaning up the cable mess but I don’t even know what I’m doing anymore. There are even two cables running a two-foot section between the fireplace and the rug, which proves to be a hazard. However, these cables lead to the rear L&R speakers which aren’t even connected, so I am tempted to just remove them completely.
 • I am forced (for some reason) to run the Xbox360 out with RCA component instead of the better-quality RGB component since.. well, I found a converter but now I need three male-to-male adapters. The quality is quite bad using RCA. I’m wondering if doing it this other way would even create better picture quality. Think, think, think..
 • Did I mention there’s cables everywhere?
 • The projector is lower to the ground due to ceiling (and ceiling fan shadow) restraints, and that means if anyone stands up or walks casually in the room, their shadow will disrupt the stream. That also means that if you look at the wall from a certain angle, you can fry your eyes. Perfect.
 • My “component switcher” is not working correctly, and even if it was, I wouldn’t be able to hook up everything to it apparently.

This would be so much easier if we had a standard digital TV, standard digital cable box, standard digital receiver, and standard speakers running speaker wire.. instead of the projector, regular coax, a “component switcher,” and 5.1 speakers running 1/4” cables all around. Oh, and if we were still in the process of building our house and RAN ALL THE CABLES WITHIN THE WALLS. [/ideal world] [/whining]

Okay, enough of that. Back to work…

This scares me.. not because they’re running XP, but because the sky could potentially get this foggy, permamently.. and then it’s only a matter of time before our sky goes from beautiful to littered with advertisements. :-(

Apartment Therapy Ohdeedoh | Good Idea: Turn a Bookcase into a Front Facing Book Display
I think we’re way past due on removing Kay’s paper page books after she has made it abundantly clear that she’s not responsible enough to handle them without ripping pages out. (!!!!!)
Highlighting only her cardboard books like this sounds like the way to go.

No Vlog Today..

I decided against vlogging today because I can barely get myself to speak words, much less do it in front of a camera.

To begin, my sleeping schedule has been heavily reliant on Kayleigh’s schedule. She has been going to bed later and later — it has been getting so ridiculous that we didn’t get to bed until after 3am the last two nights in a row. What used to be 10am starting our day is now 12pm and 1pm starting our day. This is not what I intended us to turn into.

I have prevented her from naps, tried to keep her energized throughout the day.. but so far nothing is working. I am frazzled enough from the moving and having to make do with life that doesn’t stop whilst sealing my entire life into cardboard boxes. This just makes things so much harder.

Aside from starting my day off incredibly late, I was completely immersed with the tragic events that took place on post this afternoon. It consumed my entire day, watching live newscasts online and keeping up with the breaking news.. to the point that I didn’t even realize I should probably get my day started until it was already 5pm. I missed my opportunity to go to the post office and I totally failed at getting my yoga done (I prefer to work out before my sis and bro-in-law get home from work).

Disappointed in myself already, I decided to get whatever packing done that I could. I completed another third of the kitchen (carefully wrapping fragile items is the most time consuming) as well as about a fourth of my wardrobe. I don’t even know.. I have nine packing days left and I’m not sure if I feel ready.

At this point, my next goal is to try to get to bed before 3am. I want to reclaim my mornings.. and I’m afraid it might take something drastic.

Packing up my kitchen.. Nothing too exciting.
