What to Do in Austin
This was going to be exclusively for my friend Rebecca, but I kept adding and adding and figured someone else might get some use out of this list, too :-)
Zilker park
play frisbee,
have a bbq,
toss around a football,
go for a hike around the hilly/rocky areas,
get on the Zilker train that goes around the park,
take a dip in Barton Springs (super cold water but great on a warm day),
sunbathe on a hill near the water,
go for a jog on the hike and bike trail,
take a picnic lunch,
photograph nature/people/things,
Zilker Botanical Garden..
Downtown
people-watch on the downtown streets,
peruse some of the local shops,
check out Waterloo Records for some interesting new music or classic old stuff,
get a treat at Amy’s Ice Cream next-door to Waterloo,
go to the Whole Foods and browse some tasty, earthy, organic foods and snacks (maybe to take with you on your picnic at Zilker),
check out local music during the dinner-time/evening hours,
photograph urban life,
grab a cocktail at a cozy pub,
ride the ‘Dillo to take you to any part of the downtown area (it’s free),
take a tour of the Capitol if you can’t think of anything else to do :-P
play pool at Buffalo Billiards,
Alamo Drafthouse for a movie and lunch,
check out one of many art museums for a quiet afternoon,
