60 Before 60

Resurrected and Updated from this entry originally written by me on November 29, 2004.

  1. Learn how to drive stick shift. Thanks, Kev.

  2. Pierce my belly button.

  3. Take violin classes. or purchase a violin and teach myself.

  4. Invest in the stock market.

  5. Finance a brand new car and pay for it entirely with my own money. I’m paying for it with my work money, but Kevin started us out.  I consider this done  :-)

  6. Build my own computer and purchase it entirely with my own money.

  7. Create and maintain my own webpage.

  8. Get to class every day on time for a whole semester. I consider this done because I went to classes every single day, excepting days that Kevin was on R&R, the last year before graduation.

  9. Scrapbook all of my old photos and clippings and such (there’s so many!) I consider this done, or at least mostly, since I started scrapblogs and am in the process of scanning old photos.

  10. Randomly call up old friends that I haven’t spoken to in a long time. Facebook is a great alternative and has aided me tremendously in this endeavor.

  11. Visit Tosh in Houston. We kept in touch a bit while he was in Laredo. I consider this complete.

  12. Visit Taylor in Florida. We hung out in Austin for SXSW ‘08 at the PureVolume/Socialthing! party, so I consider this complete.

  13. Visit Thomas in Perth, Australia. We don’t keep in touch at all anymore, so I will cross this off.

  14. Study Abroad in Germany for a semester, even if it costs too much and won’t allow me to earn credit toward my degree. Attend Pharmacy school in New Zealand.  I won’t be doing Germany after all.. I think New Zealand would be exciting.

  15. Perform Stubernic once and for all.  I still REALLY want to do this!!!!!!!!!

  16. Become Silver Battle Axe on Gunbound. This is pretty much over… after a quick attempt at getting into it over a year ago.

  17. Live in New York City for a year.

  18. Write, record, and produce a song with Rub on guitar/main vocals and me on bass/piano/harmony vocals. Any song is probably fine.

  19. Achieve the almighty 4.0 (not the blasted 3.9 I’ve been sporting for two years). I graduated Magna Cum Laude, so I’ll mark this as complete.

  20. Go on a cruise.

  21. Be on good terms with David again. I never got to do this, and I’m not really all that interested in seeing him again.  Done!

  22. Play bass in a band again, but with people who want me to be there.

  23. Be in a movie.

  24. Write the score for a movie.  I still have the music I wrote for the theme to Bon’s Oz movie, but the score hasn’t been finalized and the movie was never really started.  :-(

  25. Play in the Boston Symphony Orchestra.

  26. Go to Japan.

  27. Learn German, Spanish, Japanese, and French.

  28. Keep scrapbooks of my children’s first 18 years in secret and give it to them for their graduation gift. 15 more years to go.

  29. Learn ASL (American Sign Language) and be able to use it in some form during my life. I (was supposed to have) taught ASL at work after taking a semester of ASL (5 hours!) at UT Austin.  I consider this done.

Now I need to work on creating 31 more…
